Options!! Everyone likes options!! Well, the Job Corps may be an education option that will work for you!
What is Job Corps?? It's the nation's largest residential training and employment program for economically disadvantaged youth, ages 16 to 24.
It was established in 1964, and to date Job Corps has trained and educated 1.9 million young people and continues to serve nearly 70,000 youth each year.
Job Corps has one of the highest placement rates among the nation's job training programs. Eighty-two percent get jobs, enlist in the military, or enroll in higher education.
Job Corps provides academic, vocational, and employability and life skills training, as well as a GED and a high school diploma program. There is hands-on training through the work-based learning program.
The Columbia Basin Job Corps is located in Moses Lake, Washington and has eleven trades available for vocational training. Center vocational offerings are welding, facilities maintenance, business technology, CISCO, culinary arts, pharmacy technician, and health occupations. The final four trades offered, cement masonry, plastering, painting, and carpentry, are union programs.
You can learn a trade and earn your GED and/or high school diploma in two years or less. The Job Corps provides another option for you in career education and preparation.
